Marie Stuppard recognized with 2023 MIT Excellence Award

Congratulations to AeroAstro Academic Program Administrator Marie Stuppard, who was a recipient of the 2023 MIT Excellence Award. This is the highest honor bestowed upon MIT staff, and Marie’s recognition is well-deserved. She was one of five people recognized in the “Serving Our Community” category, and was presented with the award by Lincoln Laboratory Director Eric Evans at a ceremony at Kresge Auditorium on June 8.
 
Marie’s unwavering dedication and commitment to AeroAstro’s students have left an indelible mark on their lives for many years. Marie consistently goes above and beyond, often assisting students late into the evenings.

“She has a remarkable ability to turn dark days bright—which I remember well as an exchange student from Cambridge University two decades ago, when I personally experienced her warmth and generosity,” remembers Prof. Steven Barrett, Associate Department Head. “Marie has been an invaluable contributor to our department, exemplifying excellence in her work and showing genuine care and compassion for our incredibly talented undergraduate community—of whom she is so proud.”
