- Tax and Tax Treaty Information for Postdocs – International Postdoctoral researchers may be eligible for coverage by a tax treaty, however, application of tax treaty coverage is not automatic. You must complete the appropriate forms, which can be collected from the MIT Payroll Office. If you are unsure of your eligibility to be covered by a tax treaty, please email payroll@mit.edu with your name, MIT ID and country of tax residence, and someone will get back to you with information on your eligibility.
- Sick and Vacation Time – MIT offers a variety of paid and unpaid time off options for individuals who need time away from work to manage personal, medical, or family issues. Paid time off includes vacation and sick time. If you plan to take time off, please notify your supervisor and the Human Resources Administrator (HRA) with as much advanced notice as possible. You are required to update your vacation tracker and sick leave tracker every month.
