Cambridge Science Festival: AeroAstro Open House
As part of The Space Consortium SPACE DAYS program during the Cambridge Science Festival, the MIT Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics invites you to an exclusive Open House event. From 3-5pm, explore the cutting-edge world of aerospace engineering with exhibits, demonstrations, and a self-guided tour. Learn about the innovative projects shaping the future of space exploration and meet the brilliant minds behind them. Free and open to all, this event offers a unique opportunity to delve into the fascinating field of aerospace and get an insider’s view of MIT’s renowned AeroAstro department.

Start location: MIT Building 17, first floor: Neumann Hangar

Self-guided tour:
Attendees walk to the lobby of Building 37 to see the Ron McNair exhibit and the model of the ISS as well as the Kavli hardware.
From there they can take the elevator up to the 4th floor of 37, where they can look into the Space Propulsion Lab and TESS (Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite, an MIT-led NASA mission) from the corridor.
Attendees can then walk from the 37 across the hall to the 4th floor of Building 33 to visit the Engineering Systems Lab, and then back down the elevators and out the doors of Building 33.

Launched in 2017, The Space Consortium is an MA-based, space academics and researchers-led 501(c)(3) non-profit and public charity dedicated to democratizing space knowledge. The Consortium organizes annual space education initiatives free and open to all, including Massachusetts Space Week each April and the newly launched Space Consortium Space Days during Cambridge Science Festival.
Supported by the Massachusetts Space Grant, these programs bring together experts and enthusiasts across the state. This year, as co-curators of Cambridge Science Festival’s FRONTIERS theme, The Space Consortium is bringing you two full days packed with over 12 exciting space events, including astronaut talks, school visits, stargazing, space trivia and so much more!
