Koopman Operator

The goal of this project is to apply operator theory, more particularly the Koopman operator methodology, to provide approximate analytical solutions to non-linear problems in astrodynamics. This technique allows to obtain very accurate analytical solutions to these systems while providing the spectral behavior of the solution. Examples of application of the Koopman operator are studied in this project include the orbital propagation of satellites under the effect of the zonal harmonic terms of the Earth gravitational potential, the motion of objects about the libration points in the three body problem, and the application of the Koopman operator to control problems under these dynamical systems.
